The African American Coalition of Kane County (AACKC) brings people together through Cultural Preservation and Civic Engagement. We celebrate Black history, heritage, arts, and community stories while creating opportunities for residents to learn, connect, and lead. Through cultural events, community partnerships, and practical learning, we connect generations and invite neighbors to help shape Kane County’s future.

Mission

Our mission is to preserve and celebrate African American history and culture while empowering residents to take an active role in community life. We connect generations, strengthen community voices, and turn shared ideas into action through education, cultural experiences, and civic participation.

Vision

We envision a Kane County where Black heritage is honored, community voices help shape local decisions, and people of every generation have opportunities to learn, lead, and belong. Together, we work toward connected communities that value their history and build a hopeful future.
